For us at Glen Carlou we like to farm our lands as sustainably as possible to ensure we leave a positive legacy for the future generations. We do this by giving back to and conserving nature as much as possible.

Our property borders the Drakenstein Lion Sanctuary, a haven for rescued lions who have had an unsavoury existence prior to residing at this sanctuary. Daily roars of the lions can be heard clearly from our Visitor Centre. The Park is actively involved in improving the quality of life for the lions in captivity, locally as well as internationally, either by offering these animals a lifetime home or working in conjunction with other animal welfare organisations to secure a safe future for individual animals in dire need.

There are just under 3000 lions left in the wild and whilst the lions housed at the Sanctuary have been abused by either private owners, zoos or circus’ they are offered a place to live in safety, free from abuse and persecution, and are treated with the compassion and respect they deserve.

Glen Carlou will donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of wines from the Haven range to Drankenstein Lion Sanctuary.

The Haven Range is only available in Europe.
